Mid October

This is so wonderful.  The weather is remaining mild and the street plantings have not been yet ‘frosted’.

Genius

Unfortunately not in this City.  If you look closely at the photo below, the photo is of steps that lead up to or down from a train platform.  What you are looking at against the wall, just above the treads, is a trough.  This ‘trough’ is the ridge in which you may place your bicycle …

Just When You Think …

…You’ve seen it all. You see something else. Waiting for the bus with a restless school girl beside me. The bus arrives and she can’t wait to board. I have to reach around and walk around her as she hovers by the driver. As I am taking my seat I look up and see her …

Way Cool

Trite, yes, but still way cool. Wake up this a.m. and outside my window, on both sides of the street are all the making for a major movie shoot. But what is way cool are the cars. I see one car already mounted on a dollie and right under my window is one of those 60 …

Boardwalk

How can the eye not be caught by these beauties.  Seeing the 2 waiting at a light to my right, I waited for them to pass, and the drivers seeing I was waiting, drove slowly so I could get these pictures.  As you see, they are an advert for Boardwalk, the TV series.  What a …

37th Street Fashion

One forgets about the many shops selling ball and cocktail and fancy gowns until one happens to walk across 37th Street and pass all the window fronts.  A vision of dreams and limos and awards won and lost. Every style for every event.

Signage

The vertical sign is exactly has it appears next to the entrance door.  The horizontal sign is above the door and a large plate glass window.  I could not decipher what any of it said. When I asked someone who came along to enter the shop, I was told he is a famous tattoo artist, …

No Hill In Sight

It is a compact car, like a Nissan or some Toyota, parked across the street from where I am waiting for the bus. Sitting in the shotgun seat is a big headed Golden Retriever, with large, doleful eyes. These eyes made him resemble a patient Grandfather as he looked out the side window at me. …

View from the Top

In one of the buildings at NewYork University, this is the view from a student lounge. Inspiring location to contemplate your place in the City as you seek an education. A space well lighted and calm.
