54 Degrees

Perhaps that is really what makes the TV show Portlandia work.  It really is nuts here.  A week ago it was freezing and a foot of snow on the ground.  Tonight being outside was close to being balmy.  Really messes with one’s mind.  At least the City is socked in, and consistently cold and miserable. …

Fading Fast

and dry. Portland I am told is in the grips of a dry spell!  Who makes these statements up? It hasn’t rained for a few days in winter and it is a dry time?

Note To Self

Do not mention the rain today.  Spoke with a couple of dear friends in the City today and they are cold, and the windchill is making it feel colder, and the streets are full of Superbowl fans, and the weather is bringing snow etc etc etc.  So what’s a little wetness and 42 degrees.

Overheard

Two women passed me on the sidewalk, going in the opposite direction. As they passed, I heard the older one say to the younger one ‘ I want to feel like I deserve Spring’. And then they were out of ear shot. It was 70 degree weather on this early March day; not exactly City …
