In the Village are two Greenwiches. The one west of Hudson Street is Greenwich Street. The more famous one, east of Hudson Street is Greenwich Avenue. A tourist never is aware of the two Greenwiches until they have to be at one and have arrived at the other. This all came back to me last evening as the bus turned down Greenwich Avenue and the passenger who quickly exited at the corner said they wanted Greenwich Street and where was it. The driver let them off at the corner and said ‘about 7 blocks west’.
