Non-Starbucks

How wonderful is this coffee shop on Lafayette Street that serves coffee in these non-institutional cups.

Flower Stands

Walking by a stand of flowers yesterday, I thought how terrific they all are together and what a difference it makes to see them so grouped.  Then I started to read a New Yorker and this joke appeared:

New York?

Does this residence fit anyone’s idea of what the City looks like?  This is on one of my favorite streets in the West Village.

Evidence

Two blocks from where I live is a police station.  Every so often a wrecked car is parked along the street; disturbing and unsightly.  This stretch limo was the most graphic.  The sealed evidence was in the front passenger seat and the rear right side.  The front of the car was badly ripped up.  The …

Olde Time

At the Macy’s on 35th Street.  Against the back wall of the front building. Behind the elevators.  It is all solid wood, imposing and has a mezzanine stop!

That Game…

where the 3″ square pieces are turned face down on the table top and you have to turn them over, 2 at a time, to find a match?  Here’s one for you.  This shop is two blocks away from where I live, next to the post office.  Do you know where the other one is?
